Finland vs Poland: prediction & betting odds 10 June 2025

The Matchday 4 World Cup 2026 qualifier between Finland and Poland will be held on June 10 at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki. Finland vs. Poland: prediction and betting odds, statistics.

Finland

In the last round, the Finnish team lost 0-2 at home to the Netherlands. This was Finland's first defeat in the current qualifying cycle after a win over Malta (1-0) and a draw with Lithuania (2-2). Despite the setback, Jakob Friis's side retains second place in Group G. However, Finland has conceded the most goals in the group (4).

  • The team has scored in 5 of their last 7 World Cup qualifiers.
  • At home in this tournament, Finland has not won in 5 of their last 6 matches (2 draws, 3 losses).
  • Finland has conceded at least one goal in 9 of their last 11 home World Cup qualifiers.

Projected lineup for Finland (4-4-2)

Lukáš Hrádecký – Jere Uronen, Arttu Hoskonen, Miro Tenho, Matti Peltola – Robin Lod, Kaan Kairinen, Robert Ivanov, Nikolai Alho – Joel Pohjanpalo, Oliver Antman.

Poland

In the previous two matches of this qualifying cycle, Poland defeated Lithuania (1-0) and Malta (2-0). The team skipped the last round and played a friendly against Moldova (2-0). Notably, Poland has won 6 of their last 7 World Cup qualifiers (1 loss) and kept clean sheets in five of those matches. In Group G, Michał Probierz's side is in first place, two points clear of their nearest rival.

  • The team's scoring streak in World Cup qualifiers spans 16 matches.
  • In this tournament, Poland has not lost in 8 of their last 10 away matches (6 wins, 2 draws).
  • Both teams scored in 5 of Poland's last 6 away World Cup qualifiers.

Projected lineup for Poland (4-4-2)

Marcin Bułka – Jakub Kiwior, Jan Bednarek, Mateusz Skrzypczak, Matty Cash – Jakub Moder, Nicola Zalewski, Sebastian Szymański, Bartosz Slisz – Adam Buksa, Kamil Grosicki.

Forward Robert Lewandowski has declined a call-up to the national team due to a conflict with the head coach.

Finland vs. Poland: Match Prediction

Finland had favorable opponents in the first two rounds, but matches against Malta and Lithuania were challenging for Jakob Friis's side. The encounter with a stronger opponent resulted in a defeat, and it will likely be tough against Poland as well. Even at home, Finland has only managed to beat Kazakhstan in their last six World Cup qualifiers. Although they managed to keep Kazakhstan at bay, they conceded at least two goals in the other matches during this period.

Poland has shown strong results even in away World Cup qualifiers, remaining unbeaten in 8 of their last 10 matches, with 6 wins. The team failed to score in only one game during this period and scored at least twice in 7 matches.

I believe Poland will capitalize on Finland's defensive issues and achieve a positive result. My prediction: "Poland will not lose and Total over 1.5 goals"

* The starting lineup for each team is based on their previous match.

Betting tips 10 June 2025

The clash with Finland poses a significant challenge for Poland. Tensions between Tommaso Pobega and Robert Lewandowski have recently surfaced, but the squad has enjoyed a promising start to their World Cup 2026 qualifying campaign.

Since the beginning of September, Finland have lost seven of their last nine matches across all competitions. In only two of those games did they concede fewer than two goals. On Saturday, Finland were outplayed by the Netherlands, conceding twice within the first 23 minutes and finishing the match with 2.06 xGA. Outside of Joel Pohjanpalo, the Palermo FC striker, few players in the current set-up have made a notable impression, and this squad is at serious risk of finishing bottom of their qualification group.

The crisis that led to Poland’s relegation from the Nations League top tier now looks to be easing. Since the start of 2025, Poland have recorded three wins without conceding. On Friday, Poland delivered a professional 2:0 win over Moldova, even while rotating much of their first-choice line-up. With Robert Lewandowski unavailable, Tommaso Pobega is expected to choose between Adam Buksa and Karol Świderski to spearhead the attack, and this squad has shown it has the quality to progress to another major tournament.

Since March 2016, Finland have suffered two heavy defeats to Poland, losing 0:5 and 1:5. The upcoming fixture in Helsinki could follow a similar pattern.
